Troon 1 Craigmark 1 (Troon win 4-2 on Pens)

Troon through to 1/4s after overcoming a stuffy Craigmark side. Half time 0 - 0 and a very poor first 45 it was.

Troon took lead round about the hour mark with John MacDonald the scorer. The goal brought the game to life and Craigmark equalised with about 15 mins to go. Penalty scorers for Troon were J.Stewart, T.McCormack, A.Kerr and R.Hanvey

Troon 2 Beith 2 (Beith win 4 - 2 on penalties)

2 goals in the first 15 minutes saw John McDonald put Troon ahead before Beith equalised with a soft penalty after the ref gave handball against Chris Friels.

A few minutes into the second half Tucker Sloan put Troon back into the lead. Troon sat back and the inevitable happened with 5 minutes to go when Beith equalised direct from a free kick on the edge of the box.

Shotts BA 1 Neilston 3

With both teams needing three points to keep away from the bottom three , Neilston took the lead inside ten minutes when a quick freekick found Steve McGowan who fired home. They took control and should have been three up before the homeside drew level with a header from a corner kick.

In the bleak midwinter

Things are looking increasingly bleak for this weekends matches given the current weather. Certainly in the east of the country it's like Antarctica on acid anyway and presumably many games will be off.

If your game is off or indeed going ahead this weekend then please post a story in the 'Weather Watch' category to ensure that everyone else knows about it before they travel to a deserted muddy ground in awful weather.

I'm off to dry out now. From the rain that is, not the drink.

Rose exit cup at Palmerston

Linlithgow Rose exited the Scottish Cup beaten, but with pride intact, after losing 4-0 to Queen of The South at Palmerston on Saturday.

Goals from Dobbie, Thomson, O'Connor and an unfortunate own goal by McArthur ended the involvement of the last remaining Junior side in the tournament. Rose took over 1300 fans to this game if some media reports are to be believed - many more than some first division clubs have taken to Palmerston this season.

Tosh talking tosh?

Linlithgow Rose Crest

Queen of the South's Stevie Tosh does not believe
Saturday's Scottish Cup opponents Linlithgow Rose have any right to be included in the tournament.

"If I'm being perfectly honest, I think it's a disgrace that they are in the cup," the former Aberdeen and Gretna midfielder
told BBC Sport.

"It's a gimmick from the SFA and it's just ridiculous.

Motherwell sign Grehan from Bluebell

Motherwell manager Mark McGhee has signed striker Martin Grehan from Junior side Dundonald Bluebell.

Grehan, who hit 32 goals in 33 games for Dundonald last season as they won
promotion from the Central League, impressed McGhee during a trial spell.

"It's great to sign for a club like Motherwell," Grehan, 23, told Motherwell's official website.
